Another show in Sydney worth a look in - James Patradoon has been producing large scale screenprints of the modern-day hero & villain; characters who care as much about their hair-style as they do about saving the world. This is a good opportunity to see how his work has developed with both older prints being shown alongside his more recent work.
China Heights Gallery part-owner & Xerox virtuoso Mark Drew is having his second solo show @ the befittingly hard to find Don’t Come Gallery in Melbourne (Thursday 25th June, 6-8pm). Should be a great show with plenty of nostalgic moments, as Mark dissects the most relevant, absurd & obscure elements of our adolescent cassette collections.
Also, Mark has done a tee or our forthcoming Spring 2009 range - VHS or Beta - nice.
Luke Cheadle has spent the last year filming Glimpse, a vid directed by himself & good mate Sam Page. The flick follows their travels and antics among the WQS seas, giving an insight into what really goes on behind competition doors (parties, groupies, fame, groupies, waves, groupies…). Ahhhh if only we all were so lucky to live the dream.
